🎬: Video Updates: Masters of Scale, Kevin Smith | 🎧: Jaydi Zavala to Reach 10k Streams in 1 Week of "never be the same"

It’s snowing. It’s Friday. I thought participating in a medical study today would be a great idea because I never thought it would be snowing. So paying for an Uber to Kendall Square seems silly just to get asked questions for an hour. Such is life!
Here’s a couple of updates in video form, and a song I’d love you all to listen to at the end. This is a brief Friday update. A Canna News Update for “420” is coming as well.
Last month, I was asked to deliver a special package for Masters of Scale, a podcast hosted by Reid Hoffman. Hoffman was the co-founder and executive chairman of LinkedIn and hosts an extremely popular podcast. I’m hoping his advice can get me off the streets and into the board room or on television!
Thanks to the Wait What team for the generous gifts!
By now you know that I interviewed Kevin Smith for Do617 and LeaguePodcast. Here is the video version. It’s not perfect, but it’s damn near the best I could do.
One thing you learn about video editing projects (I’m really an amateur) is that there is so much to learn along the way. There is a lot of “…next time I will do this” and you hope you remember.
I made this YouTube thumbnail from a screenshot in the editor, that’s why you see a target in the middle. It looks fine and there could be a real reason it is there, but it’s a mistake. I listen to a lot of director’s commentary tracks, I do hear that lots of mistakes are left in final cuts because they are happy accidents or are something the audience would not notice. I chalk this up to that kind of an accident.
I was super nervous not to fuck this video part up, in case Kevin or his team saw it, so I was careful to do the best job. Should I have had a tripod? Sure. Should I have had the “Camera 2” iPad in a better spot? Sure. But you are never sure how much time you have to set up for these things, and I had a handheld camera, an iPad, and a Zoom audio recorder. All 3 sources were used in the final product and in record time.
Anyway, I got it done.
I almost didn’t include clips from other movies, but always wanted to do a YouTube video like the ones that I like to watch, so I am glad I did. Stacey and I watched it and had some feedback about how I could have done some of those clips a little longer, too, and again, “Sure”. Next Time, Next Time.
Don’t get me wrong, I am extremely proud of what we did here, and thanks to the people that don’t get the credit to make it happen on the day. I would be nowhere without my co-hosts at LeaguePodcast, nor would I have had the opportunity were it not for my friend Andie that set up the interview. Of course Allison and Ben and everyone at House of Blues for making Mooby’s happen. I think credit is important, so I made sure everyone was listed at the end credits of the video.
If they don’t like it (the video), too bad! The edit is locked! There will be no Lisa Simpson saying “I’m taking my name off this thing”! …unless you all raise $30 Million for me to #ReleaseTheBetterCut!
I tend to have a lot going on, so I upgraded to a linktree. Linktree is a service that lets you have a landing page for all of your assets. Here is mine. I included some key interviews and other links like Jaydi’s music. We want to hit 10k streams today can you help make it happen? Feel free to add to your gym playlist!

We had a goal. "Let's get Jaydi 1000 plays on her first day". It happened! Then we shot for 2000. We blew that out of the water and we just topped 5582 plays during the first week. We're placed on 8 playlists and more to come. Let's get her on 25 playlists!
Will you add Jaydi to your 'Ones To Watch' or 'Pop' Spotify playlist?
