I fucked up. I haven’t been writing. I haven’t been drawing. Just focused on working 5+ jobs to make my rent. Election cycles do this to me every time.
I haven’t been watching YouTube content, reading comics or creating. That’s not entirely true, as the podcast schedule has really ramped up (and our What We Do In the Shadows podcast has returned)! Print the legend!
TODAY is your last day to register to vote in the November 5th election (in MA)! The opportunity to make our voices heard at the ballot box is one we should always engage with!
Visit iwillvote.com/today to check your registration status and make a plan to vote!
This is the message. Full Stop.
That’s the Tweet. (RIP Twitter).
Kind of OK Transcript of this video:
Hey! Guess what? Today, which is October 26th by 5 pm—that's four hours from now—you have the ability to register to make sure you can vote in this upcoming election on November 5th. It's a big one! And I'm not telling you who to vote for, but I’m not gonna say there are "very fine problems on both sides," like a certain Pop Singer said. I think you know who I'm gonna vote for.
I just want you to vote, babies out there. Please vote. Make sure you're registered. You know, you could register tomorrow, but it’s going to be too late to register for this upcoming presidential election. There are a lot of important ballots on the ballot for Massachusetts, and we want to elect our incumbents.
So however you're going to vote, you gotta vote. You gotta do it, people. I worked the election in 2020—it’s a very long, hard day. Those people are busting their asses, and I can tell you, I'm not doing it this year.
But I have jury duty on November 6th. Of all days, the day after election day, I have to go to the courthouse and do my civic duty! But the reason they know where to find me is because I'm registered to vote. So anyway, participate in the thing we have that is called Democracy. Vote for whoever you want. Okay, I think you know who I'm voting for. If you know, you know, and you know how to do what is right.
Vote your conscience, vote your heart, vote with consideration for other people that maybe aren’t you. Okay, but this is an emergency blast. Get your registration done today. You have until 5:00 PM. Please, thank you. Please do it. Be registered voters. Make it look like, "Wow, there was record turnout!"
You could be part of that boast. Say, “I voted. Look at how many people voted.” Look at how many young people voted. Look at how many people in their 40s and 50s voted. Look at how many retirees voted. If you're not registered to vote, please—just please do it.
Don't do it for me.
Do it for you.
Do it for your neighbors.
Do it for the women in your life.
Do it for the elderly people in your life.
Do it for everyone you love and care for, because if you don't participate in democracy, then you can't complain.
You can't go on “live” with your little hats and flags and say, “Well, I didn't vote.”
No, you gotta do it. Do the thing, do it. October 26—register by 5 PM, Massachusetts. Check your local listings for what you need to do in your state, your county, or your province. And when the next election cycle rolls around, consider voting by mail. It's so easy. That's what we did.
There was a question I had on the ballot, and I live with someone, and we voted the opposite way. But that's fine. I said, "I will explain this ballot initiative to you. This is the conclusion I’ve come to. I'm not here to convince you of my argument, but this is how I understand it, and this is how I'm going to vote."
They said, "Well, I need to look at it a little further. Thanks for explaining it to me. But I think I disagree with you." And I said, "I'm not looking for you to match my mail-in ballot here. I've just explained the issue to you and where you can find information." Votesaveamerica.com is a great place to build your own ballot.
If you don't know what to do, come November 5th. And no matter what, it just lays it out there for you. I know it's run by Crooked Media. Maybe you hate Crooked Media and the Democracy Boys over there, but anyway, it doesn’t matter. You can still go to Votesaveamerica. You can still encourage people to vote.
You can build your own local ballot there. It's very helpful to me because I knew how I was going to vote on most things.
Today, please register to vote if you're not registered to vote. November 5th, get out there, be nice to your election workers, be nice to the police officers working, and let’s fucking …go?!
