For those unfamiliar, Alex Saviuk is the artist for The Amazing Spider-Man Sunday newspaper comic strip, written by Stan “The Man” Lee. Alex and all of the other legendary and up-and-coming artists like Rick, Chris, and Tana will make for a fun time! Swing Through! For Pictures of Spider-Man!

What else, you ask? I’m honored to be working with my mentor LJ Malberg on a new podcast! We have a great team, and I am really enjoying releasing the weekly episodes! LJ is not only a great friend, but also the impetus for me starting “I Think This Is Great! With Clay N. Ferno”. She’s the first guest ever on the podcast and will return (when the podcast does!). I’ve been joking, but I mean it. I am the lucky one because her lessons are so valuable and by editing the audio I get to listen to them multiple times to reinforce good work habits and learn more about myself with quiet reflection! Lets GTD!

LeaguePodcast in our Western era
When the pandemic hit, LeaguePodcast took a turn. I was of course resistant to our format change because I loved my little weekly patterns still do. Now my comic shop has closed, I read digital comics, and during panny there was plenty of time to watch movies. Let me be clear. I was snitty and possibly quite rude at first about John’s suggestion to change the format of the show from a weekly comic book show to another white guy movie, tv show and pop culture podcast. Who needs that? Turns out that I did! It was exactly the right pivot, and our on mic conversations and strategy and picking movies to cover opened my eyes to the kaiju universe, Universal Monsters, plus we got to revisit the Kirk-Spock-Bones Star Trek movies (Why no TNG? I’ll tell you more about that some other day…) and earlier this year we kicked off a Directors Series and I picked my favorite, Stanley Kubrick and Dr. Strangelove to share with my pals! We’re a little more (content wise) Red Letter Media than iFanboy these days. IYKYK. Forever grateful for this corner of my life with my good pals.
Speaking of pals. We’ve also grown our YouTube channel a bit and for some reason our “Western Era” is off to a good start on the algorithm. Young Guns is nearly at 1000 views—I know, pathetic—but great for us! Young Guns II is up, and Tombstone is ‘on the slate’.
